Number of dengue patients increasing day by day
Day by day with increase in heat more and more dengue patients have started coming to hospitals.

Rising temperatures in the first week of May have triggered spawning of larvae of the mosquitoes that cause dengue fever.

So far eight patients have been detected with dengue which has caused alert in the district administration and health officers. Dengue larvae have been found from graveyards, open points, homes, tyre shops and workshops.

Officials of the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation said they need Rs4 million to clear bushes from the 68 graveyards of the city where dengue larvae thrive. The bushes in graveyards, wild plants are safe havens of dengue mosquitoes.

During past one week dengue larvae has been found from Cantt and city’s 70 different points on which taking strict notice Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa has issued directives of continuing the dengue search campaign on daily basis despite the ongoing polio and nutrition drive.
