At least eight people were killed and four suffered burn injuries near Al-Qadir University in Jhelum when a passenger van caught fire on Sunday.
According to reports, the passenger van was travelling from Lahore to Rawalpindi.
Sixteen people were travelling in the van. Four of the passengers who escaped the burning van jumped out of it to escape.
As per reports, a short circuit in the van led to the fire.
Federal Minister for Science & Technology Fawad Chaudhry said the local administration was fully assisting the victims; nevertheless, there was no alternative for life.
