Queen captains WI team to victory in live Pointless game

The Queen is a fan of the teatime quiz show
Alexander Armstrong spoke to the Sandringham WI and revealed the Queen was a team captain during a game of Pointless.

The Queen has led a team to Pointless victory in a live version of the gameshow hosted at her local Women's Institute.

Alexander Armstrong was the guest speaker at the Sandringham Women's Institute meeting on Thursday, where Her Majesty is a member, and hosted a best of five round with the audience.According to the quiz show's host, the Queen's team was victorious, crowned winners in a 3-1 scoreline.

The Queen visits the Sandringham WI every year when she is on her winter break, and has been a member there since 1943.

Armstrong called Her Majesty "our most distinguished viewer".Speaking afterwards, he said: "I think Her Majesty and the team can be very pleased with themselves tonight and go back covered in glory.

"I think they can look back over the match and feel rightly proud of what they achieved."
