[India], Oct. 31 (ANI): Goa Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho on Wednesday informed that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is completely fit and need little rest.
After attending a cabinet meeting called at Parrikar's residence today, Godinho said that the Chief Minister participated in the discussion and even gave his "valuable suggestions".
"Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar needs a little rest. He is meeting party people tomorrow, agenda has been cleared. Normal functioning would not be impacted," Godinho said.
"The Chief Minister is fully fit. He participated in the discussion, gave his valuable suggestions. Except for the fact that the meeting didn't take place at the Secretariat, everything else was like a normal cabinet meeting," he added.
Earlier on Tuesday, Parrikar had also chaired the Goa Investment Promotion Board (GIPB) meeting at his residence to discuss and approve projects before the board.
On October 29, Goa Congress spokesperson Jeetendra Deshprabhu had claimed that Parrikar, who has not been seen publicly in the last few days, may not be alive.
Deshprabhu's statement came a day after Goa's health minister Vishwajit Rane had revealed that Parrikar's is suffering from pancreatic cancer.
The Goa Chief Minister was discharged from Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on October 14 after undergoing treatment for a pancreatic ailment.
Earlier, Congress claimed that Goa is facing leadership crisis due to Parrikar's ill health. The party has also been demanding that they should be allowed to form the government in the state. (ANI)
