India tells Tillerson plans to retain North Korea embassy

NEW DELHI, Oct 25 (Reuters) - India's foreign minister toldU.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Wednesday that NewDelhi wanted to retain its small embassy in North Korea despiteWashington's efforts to isolate Pyongyang over its nuclear andballistic missile tests.

Sushma Swaraj made the statement after meeting Tillerson inNew Delhi. Tillerson is due to meet Indian Prime MinisterNarendra Modi later in the day. Swaraj said New Delhi believed adiplomatic presence in North Korea was necessary to keep thelines of communication open.
